Ages 1–3 — First Visit & Early Prevention
The first dental visit should happen by the age of one, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. At this stage we focus on examining your baby’s early teeth and gums, applying fluoride varnish, and guiding parents on teething, thumb-sucking habits, and how to clean baby teeth effectively at home. A gentle, positive first experience sets the tone for a lifetime of healthy dental habits.
Ages 4–7 — Building Strong Foundations
As children grow and their first molars appear, cavity risk increases. This is the stage for dental sealants, white fillings where needed, and reinforcing proper brushing techniques. We also begin monitoring jaw development and identifying any early signs of misalignment or bite issues that could benefit from early attention.
Ages 8–12 — The Mixed Dentition Stage
Children in this age group are losing baby teeth and growing permanent teeth simultaneously — one of the most important and complex stages of dental development. We closely monitor the sequence and spacing of erupting teeth, place space maintainers where necessary, and begin orthodontic screening to identify children who may benefit from early treatment.
